Most of the leaves have fallen and the weather is colder. Much of the color is gone as well as the warm summer nights and baseball. Seasons are changing all the time. The clock waits for no one. Change for us means that there are 10 million leaves to pick up. For some, change means a different season of life. This can be exciting or possibly even frightening. The student moving from home to attend a university or a new job. For some change could be great new opportunities or for others the loss of something precious. However it comes, change is never easy. Our society is changing every moment, it seems. Those who have been around for awhile may notice how things are no longer the same. Our God is eternal. Well most know that, but we need to see that time and circumstances never take God by surprise. Solomon in all his wisdom noticed how there is a time for everything. With all his wealth and possessions he discovered there were no answers to life in having everything. As we read the Old Testatment book Lamentations, Solomon expresses great pain and suffering as he discovered that fulfillment was not found in this "world". He finally concludes that without God, everything else has very little meaning. Jesus speaks to us about the future. He knows there are difficult times before us, yet He also said He would never leave us or forsake us or give up on us. He sent His Spirit to be with us always everywhere we go. The Holy Spirit empowers, encourages, strengthens, and guides us all the way. Christ left His eternal "Word" that will continue to lead us and be the standard of living life by Heavenly Kingdom's wisdom which is not bound by traditions or culture. Jesus is for all peoples, for all cultures, for all times, and for all seasons. The message of God will never change, the translation of the message into languages, through music, words, and culture always changes. Its good to know that no matter what happens, Jesus still has paid the debt we could never pay, Christ arose, and is coming for His imperfect bride. Through the blood of Christ we are made perfect and Righteous in the eyes of God. When we stand before the throne of Grace, His faithful followers will be able to hear, "Well done good and faithful servant. Enter into my rest." Praise God, the Harvester is COMING!
Blessings!
